Reading The Bird-spotting challenge


Answer the following questions in a different colour text.
  1. What was the first challenge?
They had to take a photo of a really large bird.
  1. Why did the challenge happen so late in the day?
Because they arrived Friday afternoon.
  1. Why did Mum and Dad go with the teams?
Because the sun was going down and their parents went with them to be safe.
  1. Why did the girls hurry back to the cabin?
Because they had an half an hour to take a photo of a large bird then hurry back to the cabin.. 
  1. Why didn’t the huge owl appear?
Jacob found out that the owls come out when it is dark..
  1. What does ‘Mum keep quiet. She knew the rules!’ mean?
Because they heard noises of an animal that could have been huge.
  1. Why were Jacob and Henry getting worried?
Because there was not that much time to win the challenge.
  1. Why was Henry feeling annoyed?
Because he couldn't take a photo of the large turkey.
  1. Why did the girls enjoy showing the boys and Mum their photos?
Because they took amazing photos and that they won

how paint is mixed

How paint is mixed


  1. Why do some paint colours need to be mixed? Because the shop dosen’t sell all the colours.
  2. Why do paint shops have cards showing paint colours? Because the customer needs what they want.
  3. Why does each paint colour have a different name? Because it different colours.
  4. Why does the coloured paint need to flow from the cylinder to the small tube? So the shop assistant can check the right amount.
  5. Why is it necessary to use a base paint?because it is easy to mix with the colours. 
  6. Why is white paint easy to mix with other colours? Because it is easy to mix and create more colours.
  7. Why is the lid of the tin pressed on firmly?so the paint goes everywhere.
  8. How are the different colours mixed together?they put it in the machine shock.
  9. Why do the colour need to be completely blended together? So it can create the colours you want.

The asteroid



The Asteroid

1. Who drew the pictures in the story?ben spiby
2. Describe Tor (what did she look like?) She is furry with a tail and large eyes.
3. Why did Tor and her troop only come out at night? Because the dinosaurs will eat them that way they come out at night.
4. How did Tor look after her babies?She fed them and kept them warm in a warm nest.
5. What is an asteroid? An asteroid is a large  rock that kills everyone.
6. How was Tor affected by the asteroid? The sky was grey with no food, no water .
7. How was Tor able to survive when the dinosaurs didn’t? She hid in the tree.
It says that the frogs, tortoises and lizards hibernated when the days grew cold. What does this mean? It means The animals sleep during the winter.

The Dolphins

Why did Ben prefer swimming in a pool?
Because he didn’t want to spend time with his dad.
Were there lots of cars on the road to the beach? How do you know?
The cars were moving slowly. Also I know because I read the book. 
How did Jason feel at the end of page 4? “Jason said nothing.”
It was hot and stuffy,sticky and sick.
What were the rules when swimming in the water?
You had you hold the ropes all the time don’t kick or splash don’t touch the dolphins.
How was Jason feeling on page 10? How do you know?
He was hoping to see dolphins first but all he can see is blue sky.
